Scientists of the University of Vienna conducted an online-survey amongst company founders. For the survey they used a standardized online tool (SoSciSurvey.de) which turned out to be not 100% what they needed in terms of evaluation and presentation of results to the participants.
The challenge for drahtwarenhandlung was to find a way to customize the standard output of the tool for the scientists. The solution was expected to present user-specific results only to her or him, allowing her to compare the own results to those of the whole group - while maintaining (data) privacy.
During the analysis of the tool it showed that the tool allowed the use of php-snippets to put together presentations of (user specific) results. This was used to create appealing data visualization using a combination of d3.js and php.
